Statement from Dr. Raymond Cho, MPP for Scarborough North on Eid 2021Published on May 12, 2021
Below is a statement from Dr Raymond Cho, MPP for Scarborough North on Eid 2021:
"Hello my friends! Salaam Alaikum!
With the conclusion of Ramadan, I want to congratulate the Muslims here in Scarborough and around the world on your spiritual journey and the personal sacrifice you have made during this holy month.
Eid-ul-Fitr is a time for gathering in celebration. Although celebrations continue to be different this year, let us still reflect and count our blessings, while remembering those less fortunate.
It is a chance to give thanks for blessings received and to share blessings with others. It draws communities closer together and nourishes the ties of family and friendship.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Ontario’s Muslim organizations have joined together with local mosques and businesses to help those most vulnerable.
We are grateful to Ontario’s Muslim community for their continued leadership and generosity.
To the three leading Muslims organizations in my riding of Scarborough North - the Islamic Foundation of Toronto, the Islamic Institute of Toronto, and the Muslim Welfare Centre. Thank you for the incredible work you do helping those in need.
On this joyful occasion, I want to take this opportunity to thank Ontario’s diverse Muslim community for all you have contributed to our wonderful province.
Together, we have built a multicultural society that draws strength from its diversity.
Insha-Allah. Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed EID.
Eid Muburak! Eid Kareem!"
